Mmmm….despite being old and decrepit I felt strangely ‘at home’ last night while watching The Brit Awards thingy. Not that I mind any of the acts that performed or appeared. In fact I quite like ‘one-off’s’ – such as Lady GaGa – good songs and always something fresh – ish to watch. Lily Allen too – catchy songs and a reasonable stage-show. I always feel though that Cheryl Cole is a bit out of her depth with such a show – to me she’s hammering away at the wrong style of music for her…erm…image? I’d like to see her, well, hear her, sing something less poppy and more musicy – perhaps a Richard Hawley song – or summat Norah Jones has got fed-up singing. She should watch and listen to Alicia Keys perhaps??.
Who else was on? Oh yes, Robbie Williams……nuff said. He’s ok I suppose, but not really my cup of Horlicks.
A few good-ish quips from Peter Kay helped bring a giggle though.
At the end of the night it all seemed a bit too predictable to me….a view re-enforced when later I saw an advert for ……’The Brit Awards CD’ – which must have been designed, compiled and burned a whiles ago eh?
